When I was wearing glasses I was limited in activities such as sports, I always had to worry about my glasses falling off or getting knocked off. Having heard about the orthoK lenses from a relative, I was curious but also slightly hesitant when first approached about the possibility of using orthoK lenses. Having required the use of glasses for many years prior, I was keen to see if I could truly do away with the hassles that came with using glasses.
During the initial talks and throughout the trial period, I was very impressed by the amount of information offered in regards to the product and the friendly professionalism of the staff. They patiently answered my queries and explained the whole process in detail.
Furthermore, during the trial period, the optometrist was very patient and careful in ensuring that I would be able to obtain the maximum benefit from the product.
Admittedly, the contacts were at first uncomfortable, however I was able to quickly adjust and become accustomed to wearing the lenses throughout the night.
I have since been using the orthoK lenses for the past five years and am extremely glad that I made the switch. The severity of my short-sightedness has not changed and I am able to enjoy the benefit of 20/20 vision on a daily basis.
Although it can sometimes be annoying to have to put my lenses in after a long day, the benefits of the lenses are worth the small amount of effort before bed.
Every morning when I wake up, I just need to remove the lenses and not think any further about my eyesight. I have amazingly clear vision and no longer have to worry about misplacing my glasses, ensuring that I bring them with me or about them fogging up when eating a hot meal.
